Beginning Jan. 2, 2020, aircraft flying in airspace where a transponder is necessary today will be required to be equipped with compliant ADS-B Out technology.

In a statement, FAA Acting Administrator Daniel Elwell said, “The ADS-B mandate is not going away. We’re only months away from the January 1, 2020 deadline and now is the time for aircraft owners to equip.”

With that said, If you haven’t updated your airplane for ADS-B out, the 2020 ADS-B mandate is rapidly approaching and shop schedules are filling fast. Whether it’s as simple as installing the Garmin GDL82 to become ADS-B out compliant, the GDL 84 for ADS-B out/in, the GDL88 for ADS-B out/in as well as integration with your nav system, or upgrading to the GTX345, the maintenance team at Air Associates can help!

Maybe you’re looking for a complete panel upgrade like we did with our Cessna 172 rental fleet (including the GTX345 ADS-B in/out, the GTN 650, the GMA345 audio panel and duel G5’s for attitude indicator and HSI displays), we can do that too! Call us to find out more, or come by and view our rental fleet installations. We’d be happy to discuss how we get you ADS-B compliant, as well as upgrade your panel

There are five steps aircraft owners should follow to meet the mandate and receive the $500 rebate.
