Air Associates Rental Fleet Receives Massive Avionic Upgrades



Air Associates has an exciting project underway with Garmin! Over the next few months, our rental and training aircraft fleet will be undergoing significant avionics upgrades. These include:

 

  • Installation of the Garmin GTX 345 ADS-B in/out transponder – with this, our aircraft will have:

    • The mandated ADS-B out capabilities as well as ADS-B in
    • Wireless connectivity
    • Weather and traffic to your iPad using Garmin Pilot Foreflight or FltPlan G
  • 5258Y and 1053X, our most popular Cessna 172 trainers, installation of the following:

    • GTN 650 GPS/NAV/COMM
    • G5 Attitude indicator
    • G5 HSI indicator
    • GMA 345 audio panel
    • Flight Stream 510
      • 227TW – In addition to the GTX345, Flight Stream 510 has been added
  • 2013V – In addition to the GTX345, a GNC255 VJF NAV/COM will be installed

At the end of this project, the Air Associates aircraft fleet will feature the latest Garmin technology and be in compliance with required ADS-B. With the installation of the GTX 345 ADS-B in/out transponder, pilots and passengers alike will enjoy the benefits and safety of Garmin’s latest transponder and ADS-B in/out technology. In addition, the upgrades to the panels of 5258Y and 1053X will significantly enhance the presentation of flight and navigation data through the installation of the GTN 650, G5 attitude and HSI indicators. The avionics in 2013V, our twin engine Duchess trainer, will be enhanced not only with the GTX 345, but also a new GNC 255 NAV / COM.
