OUR INSTRUCTORS

DR. BILL TUCCIO, CFI, CFII, MEI, ATP, Chief Instructor

Bill was raised in Ridgefield, CT and soloed at Danbury, CT when he was 17. He has held a flight instructor rating for over 30 years and successfully recommended people for all certificates from Sport through ATP. He has participated in most facets of aviation: flying charters, flying for American Eagle, flying the Predator UAV while deployed to Iraq, owning a few airplanes, and living on a private airport. Prior to moving to Kansas to work for Garmin in Human Factors, Bill was an accident investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board retrieving information from black boxes and electronics in support of over 400 investigations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and Masters                                                                        and Doctorates in Aviation. He taught his son Michael to fly who is also an engineer and                                                                          flight instructor.

JAEYD SCHOONOVER, CFI, CFII, MEI

Jaeyd was born in Dodge City, Kansas and was raised in Wichita, Kansas. While his dad worked as a manufacturing engineer at Cessna, for the Cessna Citations, his dad earned his private pilot’s license and took Jaeyd up for takeoff and landing practices when he was just three years old. At that moment, Jaeyd knew that aviation was for him. At the start of Covid, he started flight training at Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport in Kansas City, Missouri where he received his Private Pilot License and Instrument Rating. In June of 2021, he transferred to ATP Flight school for the remainder of his training. While with ATP, he completed his Commercial Single Engine. He then trained in Arlington, Texas to receive his CFI and CFII certificates. Jaeyd then went on to finish his training with ATP in Kansas City where he graduated with his Commercial Multi-Engine and Multi-Engine Instructor certificates. Jaeyd is proudly one of the very few commercial pilots in the United States that have Cochlear Implants. In his spare time, he likes to hang out at Tablerock Lake, spend time with friends and family, and travel the world.–
